One of Guiding Light's most popular figures, Kim Zimmer, will be participating in a book signing event for Guiding Light: Jonathan's Story on Saturday, October 20 at 2pm at the Borders Books and Music Store, located at 80 Wayne Town Center in Wayne, New Jersey.







Previous reports have already revealed that Guiding Light: Jonathan's Story, which was released last month, is the brainchild of the Emmy-nominated soap's writer, David Kreizman. The book features the character Jonathan Randall in the middle of an intense, passionate, and adventure-packed love story whose details are not revealed on the show. It also features his beloved Tammy Winslow, arch-enemy Alan Spaulding, and his mother Reva Shayne, who is played on screen by Zimmer.

The publishing world is changing rapidly. No one knows what the book publishing and book selling landscape will look like if Borders Books were to disappear or if they will be closing only a few of their stores. But Borders, which is said to control about 10-12 percent of the bookselling market, is already closing some of their stores around the country. Well, it has happened again, this time it is Borders books, the second largest book chain in the U.S.  There used to be a time when there were companies and industries that you could count on, but not any more. Nothing is stable and nothing is certain these days.  Borders books, a long time staple of a lot of communities is closing 200 of it's 600 stores, which is 1/3 of the stores that it currently operates.


According to reports, the stores that are being closed were losing $2 million dollars per day. Borders, which listed $1.29 billion in debt and $1.27 billion in assets, plans to continue to operate through the court process with the help of $505 million in financing from lenders led by G.E. Capital.
